Scholarship Winner Announced 

McKenzie Electric Cooperative (MEC) would like to recognize the winner of the McKenzie Electric and Basin Electric Cooperative scholarship awards. Determining the recipients for each scholarship is inevitably a difficult decision and is based on many factors. MEC is honored to have the opportunity to play a part in the education of young adults within our service area. Best wishes and congratulations to all applicants and graduates!

Ashley Holen is the 2021 recipient of the Basin Electric Power Cooperative Subsidiary scholarship and the McKenzie Electric scholarship. Ashley plans to attend Minot State University (MSU) with the intended major of accounting and math education following her personal goal of receiving the most education and experience she can in order to reach her full potential, both as a student and young adult. While at MSU, Ashley will also be continuing her athletic career in basketball.

Ashley is the daughter of Steve and Elizabeth Holen of Watford City. Congratulations Ashley!
