Concern for community is one of the seven core principles of a cooperative. McKenzie Electric holds that principle to the highest regard, and for the last three years has teamed up with Dunn County Child Protective Services in Manning to host a Giving Tree.  The Giving Tree is set up in MEC’s front lobby where employees, directors and members make donations with the hopes of making someone’s Christmas a little brighter.

It is not uncommon for children entering the Child Protective Services system to arrive with nothing more than the clothing they are wearing.  Child Protective Services provides foster families the essentials to help smooth the child’s transition.

With Christmas right around the corner, this is a great opportunity to show how we, as a cooperative, can make a difference in the communities we serve! The Giving Tree will be set up from mid-November through Christmas. The tree will be decorated with paper tags with items that are needed written on the back of those tags. We encourage our members to stop by and take a tag or two off the tree and purchase the needed items.  If you prefer, you can also stop by with toys, baby items, and anything you think will bring a smile to a child’s face. For more information, or to get a list of crucial items to donate, contact Andrew with McKenzie Electric at aspratta@mckenzieelectric.com or call 701-444-9288.
